FEBRUARY NEWS & UPDATES

On Saturday, February 10th families are invited to enjoy one or more art making sessions inside the gorgeous structure at beautiful Fielding Park! From process art to watercolour painting to drawing, there's going to be something for everyone. 

I'm really looking forward to hosting families for what I hope will be the first of four seasonal events. Adults and children of all ages can enjoy these workshops together. 

Babies and toddlers will explore some sensory art activities using non-toxic materials. Folks with an interest in sketching and animals can learn to draw winter critters step-by-step (AND take home a new sketchbook). Maybe you want to discover some neat watercolour painting techniques for creating birch forest scenes. And in the evening all are invited to enjoy a 1/2 price acrylic painting workshop in my familiar paint along style. 

There's going to be free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available for all the sessions. Why not gather your family for a really lovely outing at the park? Spend some quality time creating art together and escape the winter funk for a day!

PET PORTRAIT UPDATE

Thank you, thank you to everyone who is patiently waiting for their custom pet portraits. I'll admit they are taking me quite a bit longer than anticipated. I have 4 left to finish up from 2023! If you think you might be interested in a pet artwork at any point in 2024, I will be taking a very limited number of commissions - so please don't delay in reaching out! WINTER ART CLASSES

Need some time to yourself this winter? Maybe you want to enjoy relaxing and productive outings with a friend or two? This winter, I am offering three different art courses with the City of Greater Sudbury. Courses are 5 weeks starting February 4th, 2024. There is plenty of space available in the adult classes, however there is now a waitlist for the children's class. I'm thinking about opening a second course for kids, so please show your interest by signing them up for that list. You can visit the City of Greater Sudbury website or call 311 to register.

Paint Alongs are full swing this winter! I'm so thankful to all those who have come out to enjoy an evening of painting. Your attendance and enthusiasm for these events makes a huge impact in my ability to create new art and deliver arts programming throughout the year.

Tickets for February events are now available in my online store / the classes and workshops section of my site. Notice the tandem painting event just in time for love day. Bring your significant other, a friend, a family member, whoever! But you'll be creating one "Lake at Dusk" masterpiece together. I don't know but that sounds like a fun way to spend some quality time with someone special. 

If you're new around here - Paint Alongs are casual, two-hour acrylic painting events held in local establishments. They are 100% beginner friendly as you have the option to complete your painting by following my step-by-step instructions.

Lots coming up in the next little bit - early winter = spring / summer art show applications galore. I can't say too much for the time being, but I can share that Nuit Blanche (happening March 16th, and hosted by the McEwen School of Architecture in Sudbury, ON) will be threefold for me. Expect an innovative arts workshop leading up to the event, two new 24" x 24" artworks to be added to a group exhibition, and I'll be there night of with small works and art products for sale.
